LOS ANGELES—Vivid Entertainment, the leading distributor of celebrity sex tapes, has released its third annual "Top Ten Hottest Couples" list of celebrities it would most like to add to its Vivid-Celeb series. For the second year in a row Vivid says intimate footage of Prince William and Kate Middleton would be a winner, followed closely by Kim Karsashian and Kanye West.
"The newest royal couple is still our top choice," said Steven Hirsch, founder/co-chairman of Vivid, one of the world’s leading adult film studios. "It seems that almost every move they make is documented—except for having sex. Without question, this would be an international best seller. Just behind them are Kim and Kanye and this is verified by an incredible spike in VOD sales of our original Kim Kardashian Superstar title since Kim’s pregnancy was announced."
Indeed; even TMZ took notice of the phenomenon.
"Vivid says video-on-demand purchases of the sex tape have spiked 80 percent since Sunday night—the fattest increase they've seen since Kim's wedding to Kris Humphries," wrote the celebrity gossip website. "Further, Kanye's been boosting biz for months now. We're told overall sales of Kim's sex tape—be it VOD, online, or DVD—have steadily increased every month since he and Kim hooked up last Spring."
For the first time since it started its "hottest" lists in 2011, Vivid has added a "Threesome" category, with the singular choice of David Petraeus, Paula Broadwell and Jill Kelley. Also new this year is a "Sex with Exes" category, with the most desired former lovers being Robert Pattinson/Kristen Stewart, Johnny Depp/Vanessa Paradis and Heidi Klum/Seal.
Hirsch has generated headlines with the innovative Vivid-Celeb series, which has featured sex tapes "starring" Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, Jimi Hendrix, Kendra Wilkinson, Tila Tequila, Montana Fishburn, pro-wrestling champion Chyna and many others.
Hirsch, whom former AVN publisher Paul Fishbein credited with "single-handedly moving the adult entertainment industry into the mainstream," said his "wish list this year includes some new couples, some repeats and some ranking changes that reflect the vagaries of popularity. A tape from any of these celebrities would cause a worldwide sensation."
