LOS ANGELES - Multi-talented Monica Mayhem is rocking on with her band Sweet Avenge.
The band has eight demo tracks online, and is now writing and recording more material for an album and tour later this year.
"The music is unique," said Monica. "It is rock with a little metal and a little punk flavor. It is hard to classify because every song is different."
Sweet Avenge is featured in director Cash Markman's Sex Line Cinema feature Rockstar/Pornstar. The movie features interviews with band members, a music video for the song "In Control" and of course, groupie sex.
Monica writes the band’s music with guitarist Cordell Crockett of Ugly Kid Joe.
"I write all the melodies and lyrics, and Cordell writes all the music," Monica said. "We have great writing chemistry. Our schedules make it tough to work, but it's better to take your time and get it right, rather than rushing into an album."
Sweet Avenge played the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood for the 2008 FOXE Awards. The sounds of Sweet Avenge are available online at ursession.com and www.myspace.com/sweetavenge.
Fans can catch Monica's high energy feature dance act this week in Pasadena, TX, where she is scheduled to perform ten blistering shows over three nights at the gentlemen's club Moments.
After the Texas gig, Monica is off to Australia for three weeks of dancing and appearances "Down Under." She will be signing at the AdultEX, Australia's premier adult expo in Lorne, Victoria March 26-29.
From there she will head to Melbourne for a three night engagement at the Spearmint Rhino April 2-4. She will be back in the States April 16th for gigs in Albuquerque and Green Bay.
"I need to keep busy," said Monica. "When I'm not on the road, I am shooting movies and content for my web site, www.MonicaMayhem.com, writing music for Sweet Avenge, doing my show "Smell My Finger" on www.RudeTV.com and editing my biography which is set to be released by Random House in Australia later this year."
