CHATSWORTH, Calif.—There's no question that E.L. James' BDSM-themed novel Fifty Shades of Grey has taken the nation (if not the world) by storm, and has even replaced the Gideon Bible at the Damson Dene Hotel in the Lake District of England—so it's certainly prime fodder for adaptation by the industry that produces similar fare on a daily basis.
Enter Smash Pictures, whose homage to the novel, Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation, starring such well-respected performers as Allie Haze (as protagonist Anastasia Steele), Julia Ann and Alexis Ford, nears release, and which has just released the movie's trailer formatted for Windows, Quicktime and iPad/iPhone.
From award-winning director Jim Powers, Fifty Shades of Grey: A XXX Adaptation also stars Ryan Driller as the Dominant Christian Grey, Johnny Castle as his brother Elliot, plus Jaslene Jade and Logan Pierce as submissives. The plot involves college student Anastasia Steele, who meets an extremely wealthy and handsome young business tycoon, Christian Grey, leading to a whirlwind romance encompassing the kinkiest of pleasures soon ensues. Christian takes the inexperienced virgin into a world BDSM role-playing. Anastasia is completely swept up and scared as she has never experienced anything like this. She's spent her last four years reading English literature while living vicariously through her outgoing roommate Kate (Alexis Ford). What made her charming prince like this? Was it the training in masochism he received at the hands of Mrs. Robinson (Julia Ann)? How many shades of the object of her love must she push through to find true love?
