HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Smash Pictures might be best known for their niche lineup of light, story-driven sex movies, but the decision to hire gonzo king Jim Powers to direct the feature movie Friends & Family makes perfect sense.
“I chose Jim for his great scripts and because he took the time to intertwine and develop each character to make a fun porn plot for Friends & Family,” stated Smash Pictures VP Stuart Wall. “Plus, he’s going to really bring the sex to life.”
The detailed production begins this month following the AEE convention and showcases a spectacular cast that might make you think twice about your own family. MILF superstar Lisa Ann plays the mother hooking up with her daughter’s friend, played by Georgia Jones. The story effortlessly weaves through the lives of family members and their friends in a sexy and naughty adventure that borders on deviant.
“People are unaware that Jim Powers’ education and background was in making movies during film school,” Wall continued. “He’s a storyteller, and that’s exactly what we want to do with this movie: create a real story but with the type of sex that only Jim Powers delivers.”
Because the Adam & Eve Catalog is one of Smash Pictures largest customers, some of the rougher, more violent elements of Powers’ porn repertoire will be replaced in favor of stronger sex acts. “We won’t have any sexual violence or really rough stuff because that’s not what we do here at Smash,” Wall confessed. “However, Jim brings a dirty sense of hardcore every time he picks up a camera, and that’s exactly what we want to combine with the story.”
Carolyn Reese, Katie St. Ives, Miko Sinz, Ashylnn Rae, James Dean, Evan Stone, Randy Spears, Prince and America’s favorite porn virgin Mallory Rae Murphy round out the stellar cast that promises sex, love, greed and lust. Powers, the award-winning director, will continue to shoot for his own companies, including Immoral Productions, but agreed to work with Smash Pictures on this feature movie after a chance meeting a few months ago at the Venus convention in Berlin.
“I look forward to making this movie with Smash—and don’t worry, I’ll push things a little bit,” Powers remarked with a wink and a smile. Friends & Family will be released by Smash Pictures in March.
