Skow for Girlfriends Films Earns 2014 AVN Award for Best New Line

VALENCIA, CA — Skow for Girlfirends Films was named Best New Line at the 2014 AVN Awards. The line of boy/girl feature movies from Girlfriends Films is overseen by B. Skow, who AVN Media Network dubbed the “most prolific” director of the past year. The label showcases Skow’s diverse work, which includes comedic and dramatic features, couples films, vignette projects, and hardcore gonzo movies.

Skow for Girlfriends Films presented a variety of new releases in its freshman year, including the award-nominated Daddy’s Girls, declared the year’s most controversial adult movie by numerous media outlets, as well as additional award-nominated films Truth Be Told, What Do You Want Me to Say?, Homecoming, Paint, and Down the Rabbit Hole.

“Thank you, AVN, for this award,” says Skow. “It really means a lot to have AVN’s staff and voters acknowledge my efforts to bring original storytelling and boundary-pushing filmmaking back to adult entertainment. Girlfriends Films has been a great conduit for bringing my style of porn to the public, and they’ve been fantastic about providing me with the freedom to express myself artistically. We already have a bunch of great projects slated for 2014. We’re definitely hitting the ground running!”

B. Skow’s first release of 2014 takes viewers into a world of psychiatry, kink, fetish, and sex, with These Things We Do. The sexually provocative movie features Siri, Alan Stafford, Kimber Day, Bailey Blue, Marie McCray, Dana DeArmond, and Steven St. Croix. These Things We Do follows a young psychiatrist who uses his practice to sexually torment his patients and enters a dark, sexual underworld with his most depraved patient, a seemingly sweet young woman with a taste for control, fear, and pain.

“Congratulations to B. Skow,” says Girlfriends Films President Moose. “When we decided to expand into distributing boy/girl movies, we knew he was the perfect person to help us do so with a bang. This AVN awards confirms what we knew all along.”
