VENICE, Calif.—Once again this year Rising Star PR proved itself to be the industry leader as the 2012 AVN Awards nominations, announced this week, included 57 nods for the company’s clients. Rising Star PR, which last year took home the AVN Award for Best Marketing Campaign for client Bluebird Films’ BatFXXX, and was named Publicists of the Year by the FAME Registry earlier this year, has more nominations for its client roster than any other PR firm in the adult industry.
Bluebird Films led the way with 28 nominations, including Best Director - Foreign Release, Best Gonzo Release, Female Foreign Performer of the Year for contract girl Gemma Massey, and eight nominations for the studio’s new blockbuster parody, Katwoman XXX.
Jenna Haze and Jennaration X Studios received an amazing 16 nominations despite having only four releases eligible for consideration. Haze is nominated for Best Director – Non Feature for Legs Up Hose Down and Best New Series for Breast in Class, among other nods both for performing and directing. Haze will also be inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame, the first year she has been eligible for the honor.
Another Rising Star PR client, Inari Vachs, will be entering the AVN Hall of Fame in January. The clear comeback star of 2011, she is also up for MILF/Cougar Performer of the Year and is nominated for Best Double-Penetration Scene for the scene in Harder she performed with Tommy Gunn and Jack Vegas.
Superstar Lisa Ann notched three nominations: Crossover Star of the Year, MILF/Cougar Performer of the Year, and Best Porn Star Website for TheLisaAnn.com.
Jacky Joy, a relative newcomer to the Rising Star PR family, continued her breakout year with a nomination for Unsung Starlet, while Jenna Presley was nommed for Best Solo Sex Scene for This Ain’t Two and a Half Men and Best Three-Way Sex Scene (G/G/B) for her performance with Jayden Jaymes and Manuel Ferrara in Party Girls.
“Obviously we are very pleased to see our clients get the recognition they deserve,” Rising Star PR partner Acme Andersson said. “Each of these companies and performers worked very hard to get where they are today and our job is to make sure that work gets recognized.
“I think these 57 nominations prove that a solid publicity plan is an important part of any serious adult career, whether it’s promoting a company or an individual performer,” Andersson continued. “It’s a shame to put in so much work and just get lost in the shuffle. We make sure that doesn’t happen with our clients.”
