HOLLYWOOD, California—Artist Rick Castro is holding what is billed as the ultimate fetish video party at his gallery in the heart of Tinseltown. The Antebellum Fetish Film Festival will run for four nights, September 17-20.
Castro has put together a set of videos—long and short, new and old, many rare—celebrating fetish, leather culture, gay, lesbian and trans topics. Films of note include Love Hard, often described as a docu-portraiture of BDSM and intimacy; Cruising, the cult-film classic starring Al Pacino as an undercover cop in the NYC leather scene looking for a serial killer; and the premiere of The Dog and Pony Show, a short film about puppy and pony play by Rick Castro and Eric Minh Swenson.
The current exhibition at Antebellum fetish art gallery is "True Mexican Independence Day." Attendees can check out the colorful paintings before and between the films and to enjoy a drink in the patio area.
Antebellum fetish art gallery is located at 1643 Las Palmas Ave., Hollywood, CA 90028. The festival runs September 17-20, 7 p.m. to midnight.
