NEW YORK CITY—Penthouse Forum and the New York School of Burlesque (NYSB) played to a packed house with the live revue “Bedroom Burlesque” at Lower East Side nightclub The Slipper Room last Monday night. The event was a special occasion, marking the release of the November/December issue of Penthouse Forum and its cover story “Bedroom Burlesque: How to Strip for Her (and Him!)” by NYSB Headmistress Jo Weldon.
Weldon served as hostess for the evening, presenting five of her instructors during the 90-minute show. The classic stylings of Angie Pontani joined (sometimes literally) in-your-face routines by Julie Atlas Muz, Perle Noire, Calamity Chang and Pinkie Special that honored burlesque’s history with a post-modern flair.
Also on the bill were Penthouse Pets Allie Haze and Tasha Reign, who dazzled the capacity crowd with campy, sexy readings of Penthouse Forum letters between numbers. After the gig, Tasha said, "The Slipper Room is the most comfortable, entertaining, fun night out in New York City,” while Muz gushed, “What a stellar night! I laughed so hard I almost came!”
The November/December issue of Penthouse Forum is on sale now at newsstands or online.
