OTTAWA, Quebec—Recently, the Canadian government proposed a bill that would censor pornography. On February 8, their hypocrisy will be revealed when Sexcula screens at the Mayfair Theatre in Ottawa.
Sexcula is the only hardcore sex movie produced in Canada during the entire "Porno Chic" era. The film was produced with an $80,000 tax credit. And because it was illegal to produce or exhibit pornography in Canada at that time, it means that the Canadian government funded an illegal sex film!
Sexcula features a madcap mashup of vampires, Frankenstein's monsters, mad scientists, fembots, hunchbacks, lumberjacks, and a gorilla called "Rape Ape." With over 4,000 DVDs sold and successful screenings in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Paris France, Sexcula is quickly becoming the Rocky Horror Picture Show for a new generation.
Since 2001, Real Boogie Nights has been producing sexy screenings of golden age adult films in a party atmosphere. "Return to Porno Chic!" founder and porn archaeologist Dimitrios Otis will be in attendance to explain details about the film and to answer questions about adult film history.
