LONDON—Television X, which today announced the nominations for the 4th annual SHAFTA awards, will host its annual Soft and Hard Adult Film and Television Awards on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Rise Superclub, No. 1 Leicester Square. This year the awards coincide with the channel’s 18th birthday and will celebrate the great and the good from the British adult industry over the last 18 years.
Top adult talent from the history of the channel will be recognized at this year’s ceremony, from Gilly Sampson and Charmaine Sinclair, who helped launch the channel back in 1995, to the top new starlets making waves in the UK adult scene, such as Jess West and Samantha Bentley. Not to be outdone, the nominees for Male Performer feature some of the best UK talent. Omar, Ben Dover and Danny D have international careers, and combined the seven nominated studs have over 110 years of service to the adult industry!
The nominations also celebrate the extensive Television X library, showcasing some of the best home grown adult movies and series ever made in the UK. For the first time, girl-girl and amateur series have their own category. Of course, there’s also the award that always gets the most attention—Most Outrageous Series, this time focusing on grannies, gang bangs and transsexuals. All of the nominated series will be broadcast on Television X from November 2.
This year’s awards—known as the ‘UK Oscars of Porn’—will have a fairground theme. Hosted by mega-MILF and multiple SHAFTA winner Tanya Tate, she’ll be asking adult industry and celebrity guests to “Scream if they want to go faster!”
