LOS ANGELES—Wicked Pictures has released a 45-second teaser for Speed, the latest from award-winning director Brad Armstrong. The director's follow-up to last year’s big Wicked release—the sci-fi thriller 2040, which won multiple awards from AVN, XBIZ and XRCO—Speed is a big-budget action adventure set in the fast and furious world of California's motorcycle club culture.
In a telling move that acknowledges the importance of social media networks in fueling grassroots publicity, the PG-13 teaser debuted on the official Wicked Pictures YouTube Channel on July 27. The viral PR push initially began two weeks ago, when the company released several short behind-the-scenes clips via YouTube. Featuring an introduction by director Armstrong and a chat with co-star jessica drake, the clips showcase one of the movie's most exciting scenes.
The filmmaker describes his latest mega-production as an ensemble piece, focusing on the rivalry between four different L.A. bike clubs, with each headed by one of the Wicked Girls. In addition to showcasing jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Kirsten Price and Alektra Blue, the movie boasts a cast of more than 14 major characters, plus an additional 17 A-list players and more than 100 extras.
Now making its way virally across the web, the teaser will soon be followed with a complete three-minute trailer that will take viewers even deeper into the high-octane world of Speed.
