LOS ANGELES—Mike Kulich is scheduled to visit the San Diego Jewish Community Center on May 8 as a guest lecturer. Kulich, the owner of Monarchy Distribution, will address the audience alongside Rabbi Gary Katz for a special event titled Taboo Talks: Jews and Adult Entertainment.
The topics to be discussed will include the history of Jews in the adult entertainment business, how pornography effects relationships, and more.
"I am honored that they thought of me to participate in this discussion," Kulich said. "I love the adult business and have been honored to be a part of it for almost 10 years, but being a Jew is also a very important part of my life. I go to synagogue, and I try to live my life based on Judaic principles. Many people make automatic assumptions about me because the business I choose to be a part of and I am looking forward to addressing those in an open forum and dispel any myths associated with the industry."
The lecture is scheduled to begin with Kulich discussing his upbringing and what led him to pursue a career in the adult entertainment industry.
Alongside Kulich during his talk will be Rabbi Katz who previously has worked at the Sexual Addiction and Trauma Training Institute in New York and is currently the director of The Intimacy Institute of Southern California in San Diego.
The event is open to the public and tickets are available for $18 online or at the door. Admission is restricted to ages 21 and up. There will also be a pre-lecture happy hour including wine, beer and snacks.
The JCC San Diego is located at 4126 Executive Drive in La Jolla, Calif. Doors open at 7 p.m.
