‘Library Girl’ Kendra Sunderland Pleads Guilty to Public Indecency

CORVALLIS, Ore.—Kendra Sunderland—who became famous as the “Library Girl” after a video of her masturbating in an Oregon State University library as part of a webcam show went viral—pleaded guilty to a charge of public indecency.

Sunderland appeared last week in a Benton County Circuit Court, and was fined $1,000 for the misdemeanor charge. Of that, $800 will go to the OSU Valley Library, where the incident took place.

She was a 19-year-old student at the time, but since then has dropped out of school and entered the adult entertainment industry, appearing in Playboy and Penthouse, as well as creating a line of novelties with Pipedream Products.

Sunderland Tweeted following the verdict: “So you’re welcome, OSU students—I didn’t damage anything, yet $800 of my money goes to that library.”

Sunderland was facing one year of jail time and a $6,250 fine for her on-campus performance; she said she is thankful for the lightened verdict.

“I’m happy this is now resolved,” Sunderland said. “I’ve had a crazy year so far, and I’m so thankful for my loving fans and the opportunities which have been given to me. I can’t wait to see where my future takes me.”
