Lady Calston Begins Transition to Phthalate-Free

NORTH YORK, Ontario - Lady Calston has released the follow Press Release: "Over the last few years there has been considerable discussion within the industry and in the press on the topic of Phthalates and their potential negative impact on health. Although the actual effects are not, as yet, totally clear, the concerns have both moral and ethical legitimacy."

"Functionally, there are many Phthalates to be researched and investigated in these regards and only some have been completed thus far. Certain studies have already shown negative findings and the EU has even banned several types of Ortho-Phthalates including, DINP, DEMP and DBP."

"Consequently Calston has decided to take the safe and prudent path. We began work over 18 months ago on the development of new materials and particularly Ortho-Phthalate free materials to address the situation. It took a lot of devoted efforts, dedicated work, experimentation and expense."

"On January 1, 2007, Calston initiated a soft transition to Ortho-Phthalate free products. As of this date, 95-percent of our products are Ortho-Phthalate free. We are now pleased to announced that ALL products shipped after June 1, 2007 will be Ortho-Phthalate free."
