HILLSBOROUGH, NC — Adam & Eve’s Grindhouse XXX has received an Honorable Mention from the upcoming 2011 Shockfest Film Festival in Hollywood, CA. The international horror film festival occurs November 18 and 19 at Raleigh Studio’s Chaplin Theater. In addition to the Honorable Mention, David Lord’s Student Assassin and Andre Madness’ Massacre at Pine Lake are each nominated for Shockfest’s Crossover Film Award.
Festival Director G.R. Claveria says, “While we unfortunately are unable to screen any adult films at the 5th Annual Shockfest, we were so impressed with Grindhouse XXX, we wanted to spotlight it. Distinguishing Adam & Eve’s Grindhouse XXX as an Honorable Mention recognizes the filmmakers’ fantastic job combining adult entertainment with the horror and grindhouse genres. Hopefully Grindhouse XXX will help pave the way for future adult movies to find a place in our festival.”
Adam & Eve will supply Shockfest with a plethora of Grindhouse XXX DVDs to give away at each of its screenings and events. The festival gets under way with a red carpet procession of stars and filmmakers at 5:00 pm PST.
Shockfest’s Midnight Bloodbath Bash Massacre and Awards Ceremony begins at 11:00 pm PST Saturday night at Hollywood’s Hard Rock Café. The award ceremony directly proceeds an anticipated 10th anniversary screening of Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever and a Q&A with the director.
Grindhouse XXX was inspired by the grindhouse film genre of the 70s and 80s, as well as the 2007 theatrical pairing of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. Award-winning adult directors David Lord and Andre Madness blend action, horror and sex to create two thrilling movies in one.
MASSACRE AT PINE LAKE
It’s a universal law: large assemblies of horny young adults in the woods attract bloodthirsty psychos. Thus is the premise of Andre Madness’ sexy and hysterical slasher flick, Massacre at Pine Lake. Head camp counselor Alexis Ford runs screaming from a serial killer as he slices up her friends. Massacre at Pine Lake also stars Andy San Dimas, Briana Blair, Rocco Reed, Mr. Pete, Ralph Long, Snoop, Eric Masterson, Jack Lawrence and Lee Stone.
STUDENT ASSASSIN
College student by day; killing machine by night! David Lord’s Student Assassin features Teagan Presley as a co-ed hellion bent on revenge. Searching for her girlfriend, Teagan leaves a slew of bodies in her wake. Student Assassin also stars Nina Mercedez, Britney Amber, Derrick Pierce, India Summer, Seth Gamble, Eric Masterson and others.
