CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Amanda E. Clark of literary consultancy Grammar Chic, Inc. announced today that her company is offering a 10 percent discount to members of the adult entertainment industry for literary projects initiated this February.
Clark, as the editor-in-chief of Grammar Chic, Inc., is a published ghostwriter and editor with extensive experience in the publishing industry. Two of her more recent collaborations were adult entertainment-related efforts, including partnering with Allison Vivas, president of Pink Visual, on Vivas’ book, Making Peace with Porn: Adult Entertainment and Your Guy, which is slated for release through Hunter House Publishing this spring.
“I originally had the opportunity to meet Amanda while she was working on another writing project for the adult industry,” Vivas recounted. “I approached her about my idea for Making Peace with Porn and she was really enthusiastic about the concept. She assisted in guiding me through the writing and editing process and provided the introduction to Hunter House, a mainstream publishing company focused on the health and wellness genre. It was a perfect fit.”
The intent of Making Peace with Porn is to speak directly to women who feel uncomfortable or upset with the fact that their husband, boyfriend or partner views pornography. As an unthreatening and level-headed voice of the industry, Vivas worked to combine personal anecdotes from her years working at Pink Visual as well as data-driven analysis in helping women understand the biology behind a man’s interest in adult entertainment and the reality of what the industry actually looks like. Clark assisted in taking a third-party viewpoint to the subject as the pair identified and devised chapter topics, compiled statistics and created an even-keel and non-threatening message to the female reader.
“This book is really interesting because it’s one-of-a-kind in its intent. There isn’t [a book] out there that specifically speaks to women about pornography in a positive light, which is why I think it’s so unique and why Hunter House Publishing snapped the manuscript up,” Clark said.
Part of Clark’s enthusiasm for the Making Peace with Porn project stemmed from how different her own experiences with the adult industry have been from the portrait of the industry painted by its most vocal critics.
“I think that there needs to be more encouraging voices that talk about the reality of the industry because, in my experience of working with Allison and other industry members, I’ll be the first one to attest that the veracity of the business is much different from what voices of opposition would have you believe,” Clark said. “I have absolutely loved working on this fantastic book and I hope to have the ability to continue partnering with adult entertainment professionals on any sort of writing project they are considering. I’m happily offering 10 percent off all Grammar Chic services to industry professionals so they can get their stories and experiences out there to the mainstream reading public.”
