Exile Distribution CEO Howard Levine released the following statement in the wake of the announcement of the nominations for the 2016 AVN Awards:
“I am so excited for all my studios that have been nominated. This is where they are recognized for their incredible work all year long. We did very well. I expected the nods for Forbidden Fruits, Rebecca Lord, Manipulative Media and Severe Sex; these guys bust their ass to make the best product on the market today. It is a diversified group of really committed producers who love what they do.
"I must say I am really stoked about Exile’s newest acquisition, Burning Angel. Out of the 48 noms [for Exile distributed companies], BurningAngel got 27. Joanna Angel puts her heart and soul into every movie, and it is without a doubt the most undersold line I have ever taken on. But that has all changed; we doubled the numbers with her first two Exile releases. This is proof positive that this is a top notch quality line that needs to be in every store.
"We succeeded getting Forbidden Fruits, Severe Sex, Rebecca Lord and Manipulative Media onto every shelf, and we will do the same with Burning Angel. 27 noms out of a 5 foot Jewish princess from New Jersey, how can you not love that? Jay and Jodi West continue to dominate in the taboo genre and Dee Severe and Severe Sex also dominated in the BDSM/Fetish category. They knocked it out of the ballpark this year.
"I am also extremely proud of our entrance into the foreign produced films with Rebecca Lord Productions and Do Not Disturb. They just don’t make films like this here. She is very deserving of the recognition.
"Thank you so much to AVN for all you do and making this an exciting time of year for all involved."
