Evil Angel Stacks Up the Statuettes

VAN NUYS, Calif.—The adult entertainment industry convenes in Las Vegas every January for the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) and AVN Awards presentation recognizing excellence in the previous year’s pornography. Industry leader Evil Angel’s 2014 visit to the desert yielded AVN Awards in 26 wide-ranging categories — director/stars Manuel Ferrara and Rocco Siffredi earned prestigious acknowledgement as Performers of the Year while the company garnered statuettes for top releases, series, websites and marketing. Director/stud James Deen was named Mainstream Star of the Year, and Bonnie Rotten, the strikingly tattooed beauty who greeted fans and signed autographs in Evil Angel’s AEE booth, won the coveted title of Female Performer of the Year after gracing the work of many Evil Angel filmmakers.

“AVN Awards are still the gold standard of adult industry validation,” said Evil Angel General Manager Christian Mann. “Nominations and awards are important because they tell the people who worked so hard that their efforts mattered. From a marketing point of view, AVN Awards tell consumers and B2B clients in every arena that your stuff is the ‘best of the best.’ It’s great to win.”

As the porn business increasingly turns to internet-based commerce, Evil Angel’s websites are setting industry standards. EvilAngelVideo.com was recognized as Best Studio Website. EvilAngel.com took the AVN Award for Best Membership Website, and the prize for Best Affiliate Program went to Gamma Entertainment, the company that administers EvilAngel.com.

Ferrara was named Male Performer of the Year; in addition, his “Evil Anal” got the nod as Best Anal Series; his “Slutty & Sluttier” took the award for Best Continuing Series; and Slutty & Sluttier 18 won the title as Best All-Sex Release. The legendary Siffredi, an Evil Angel mainstay, was named Male Foreign Performer of the Year while the trophy for Best Foreign Continuing Series was bestowed upon Siffredi’s “Slutty Girls Love Rocco.”

Evil Angel directors took home AVN Awards for various Best Series, including the two by Ferrara and one by Siffredi. Best All-Girl Series went to Belladonna: No Warning, directed by Aiden Riley. David Perry’s "Big & Real" won Best Big Bust Series. Best POV Series was Kevin Moore’s “Tanlines.” And Joey Silvera, Evil Angel’s Hall Of Fame iconoclast, grabbed the prize for Best Specialty Series — Other Genre for his “Evil BBW Gold.”

Among the stack of Best Release statuettes earned by Evil Angel filmmakers were two each for Silvera and LeWood Productions. Silvera’s Evil BBW Gold #3 won the Best Specialty Release — Other Genre award while his Strap Attack 17 took the title as Best Fem-Dom Strap-On Release. Remy LaCroix’s Anal Cabo Weekend, from the LeWood team of Francesca Le and Mark Wood, was named Best Gonzo Release. AVN lauded LeWood’s Butthole Barrio Bitches #2 as Best Ethnic Release — Latin. Three more directors earned big Best Release prizes: Moore’s The Hooker Experience was Best POV Release; Mike Adriano’s American Cocksucking Sluts 3 was Best Oral Release; and Lexington Steele’s first movie as an Evil Angel director, Lex Turns Evil, was Best Interracial Release.

Silvera, who pioneered quality transsexual porn, brought home another three trophies in TS categories: His Rogue Adventures 38 was named Best Transsexual Release; a scene from the movie starring Jacqueline Woods and Zoey Monroe took the Best Transsexual Scene award. Silvera’s “American She-Male X” won the Best Transsexual Series award.

Perhaps the bevy of statuettes and recognition listed above validates Evil Angel’s 2014 AVN Award for Best Marketing Campaign — Company Image.
