VAN NUYS, Calif. — Universities across the country continue to screen Digital Playground’s blockbuster adult movie Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge for thousands of students 18 years old and over.
On April 2, the showing of Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge by the University of California Davis' Entertainment Council will feature a speaker on pornography. The University of Maryland's screening at the Hoff Theater on April 4 includes an introduction by Planned Parenthood. Over 2,000 excited students cheered and clapped throughout recent screenings at UCLA, Northwestern University, Carnegie Mellon University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Southern Connecticut State University.
Lisa Cunningham, Program Coordinator for the University of Maryland's Hoff Theater says, “The popularity of Pirates with the college-age demographic led us to believe screening Pirates II would bring in a good draw from the University of Maryland community and would be a fun event for them to attend. We anticipate that Pirates II will be a successful event and plan on including more films of this type for the Hoff Theater programming in the future.”

Numerous colleges published reviews and stories on Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge, sparking the healthy debate as to whether adult entertainment has a place in academic studies. Bruce Reitman, the dean of student affairs at Tufts University is quoted in the Tufts Daily as saying, “We’re not in a position to be moralists ... and censor what some consider bad taste. The issue arises when it affects other people. On campus, there is [a] complex diversity of values, beliefs and backgrounds, and no one can agree on everything. ... That’s not to be feared; in fact, the civil dialogue is to be encouraged.”
Producers Joone and Samantha Lewis made Pirates and Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge with the intention of breaking down the popular notions of what adult movies are capable of. With over 600 special effects, thrilling fight sequences and a comprehensive story, Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge continues to build a huge mainstream following.
Joone, Digital Playground's founder and the writer/director of Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge says, “I'm always impressed by the open minded attitude in our country's universities. Sex is a topic which should be discussed in the open. It is no longer taboo.”
Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge stars Digital Playground’s beautiful contract girls Jesse Jane, Katsuni, Stoya, Riley Steele and Gabriella Fox.
