VAN NUYS, Calif. - Digital Playground scored an amazing 11 award nominations in all of the major categories from the X-Rated Critics Organization.
The XRCOs are the only awards chosen by a collective group of adult writers and editors. Recently making waves for its mainstream, R-rated release, Joone's Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge was nommed for Best Epic, Best Feature Director, Best Single Performance Actress (Jesse Jane), Best Single Performance Actor (Evan Stone), Best On-Screen Chemistry (Jesse Jane and Belladonna), and Most Outrageous Extras.
The studio's 2008 bestseller Cheerleaders earned a nomination for Best Release and Best Non-Feature Director for in-house maestro Robby D. Additional nominations include Jesse Jane for Mainstream Adult Media Favorite, Robby D.'s Jack's POV 9 for Best POV Movie, and Stoya for New Starlet.
"As a member of XRCO, I was not surprised by the number of nominations Digital Playground received, especially considering their continuing quality productions," said Genesis editor Dan Davis. "Pirates II is one of the most ambitious productions in adult history, so the attention it continues to receive is no shock to anyone."
The XRCO nominations reflect similar choices at the 2009 AVN Awards."Cheerleaders was a popular title with fans and critics, and Stoya is a consensus pick with everyone as one of the top new starlets to emerge in adult over the past year. Her inclusion is a welcome one," Davis said.
