CANADA—Producer-performer-director Courtney Trouble (pictured) will be heading north to Calgary and Winnipeg this week for a two week tour full of diverse events.
February 11, they will be at the University of Calgary, offering an academic screening of the 2013 film, Trans Grrrls: Revolution Porn Style Now!, alongside acclaimed presentation: Queer Porn Behind the Scenes: Finding Gender Through Porn Performance. The presentation will include multiple explicit clips of Courtney’s performances, short films and cameos from some of queer porn’s favorites, such as Jiz Lee, Papi Coxx and James Darling. A Q&A will follow, and light snacks will be provided. Participants are welcome to attend one or both of the scheduled events; the evening is free, and reserving seats in advance is recommended. A casual meet and greet over brunch, as well as a DIY queer porn workshop with hands on coaching are included in the Calgary events.
Trouble will then will head to Winnipeg for a special Valentine’s Day presentation on Feminist Porn and Representation. It promises to be an evening of conversation and entertainment and Trouble is excited to share their knowledge and experience with attendees. They will expand on topics brought up at previous presentations done at the University of Toronto and the University of Arizona in 2013. This event is part of the Genderfest Festival, where they will also be appearing on a porn panel with local queer porn makers like Cherrystems, performing in a live porn shoot at a queer play party, and DJing the closing dance party.
Canada will be welcoming Trouble back in early April to attend the Feminist Porn Awards, as well as to present the closing keynote presentation at the second annual Feminist Porn Conference in Toronto.
