HOLLYWOOD - X-Play has announced a March 3 street date for Not Three’s Company XXX, director Will Ryder's latest 1970s sitcom spoof. The movie will be distributed on DVD through Hustler Video.
"I don’t think there’s any question that this is our best comedy so far, because it’s campy, funny and packed with hardcore sex just like the TV show," said X-Play president Jeff Mullen.
Mullen and his producing partner Scott David have led an industry-wide craze for television sitcom parodies with such hits as Not the Bradys XXX, Not Bewitched XXX and Not the Bradys XXX Marcia Marcia Marcia.
Not Three's Company XXX stars beautiful rookie Brynn Tyler as Chrissy, Penny Flame as Janet and Van Damage as Jack. Capturing the look and feel of the original ABC network hit with picture-perfect sets and costumes, the upcoming release delivers the sex that the TV show constantly hinted at in order to sustain its leering, innuendo-laden premise.
X-Play's ensemble cast also includes rising porn superstars Jenny Hendrix and Madison Scott, Sienna West, Roxy Jezel, Allyssa Hall, James Bartholet, Eric Swiss, Scott Lyons, porn icon Ron Jeremy, Dino Bravo, Nina Hartley, and multiple AVN Award-winner Tommy Gunn as the roommates' lovably sleazy neighbor, Larry.
The plot synopsis reads like a typical episode of the original show: "When Jack loses his restaurant job, the gang can’t afford rent...so Chrissy picks up a night job, leading Janet, Jack & the Ropers to think she’s become a hooker."
X-Play's success with the "sitcum" formula has led to inevitable imitations.
"It's fun to see other companies try to jump on the bandwagon, but when we won the AVN award for best comedy for Not Bewitched XXX recently in Vegas, we knew we had a responsibility to continue to be the best in the business at making this type of movie,” said co-producer Scott David.
Nina Hartley enjoyed recreating Audra Lindley's "Mrs. Roper" character opposite Dino Bravo in the role originated by Norman Fell.
“I love being a part of these sitcums with X-Play," said Hartley, who scored an AVN Award for her role as Endora in Not Bewitched XXX. "I thought Not Bewitched XXX was about as good as it would get, but I’m pretty sure this movie is going to be even bigger."
And so the hype begins. Mullen is enthusiastic as ever in his relentless promotion of the new flick.
"It was amazing to see these actors transform into these characters in such a fun and sexual way," he said. "Believe me when I say that Penny Flame has become Janet, and Brynn Tyler is the perfect Chrissy."
