BobbiStarr.com Launches

LOS ANGELES—Award-winning performer Bobbi Starr has launched a membership-only pay site. A partner site to JuliLand.com, where her blog has been hosted throughout 2011, the BobbiStarr.com site is now nearly one month old.

Starr has used the blog to post her thoughts on subjects including the state of the adult industry and national politics. Although she has owned the BobbiStarr.com domain since she entered in the adult industry in 2006, Starr said the site only started to take shape when Juliland.com creator Richard Avery offered to work with her to develop it.

Starr will perform in scenes on the site and also show her talent and skills as a director. "I don't see this website as a random collection of scenes and photos that I happen to appear in," she said. "It is an ongoing project where I can show my creativity. To make a website remarkable, you have to create something that'll have the fans coming back for more, whether it's blog posts about the daily behind-the-scenes grind of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, stills that explore my latex and hose fetish, or scenes with bondage and suspension. Some people call all of that 'content,' but that word cheapens and commoditizes the imagination and work that goes into a website."

Starr has won awards from AVN, the X-rated Critics Organization (XRCO) and Cyberspace Adult Video Reviews, and has worked with major production companies such as Jules Jordan Video, Evil Angel and Adam & Eve. Her acting has been featured in plot-driven productions for Vivid Entertainment and Wicked Pictures, and parodies for New Sensations. She recently signed a directing deal with gonzo distributor Evil Angel, putting her in the company of some of porn's most elite performer/directors.

"As busy as it keeps me, I'll be in front of the camera as much as I'll be behind it," Starr said. "Trust me, I'm a hands-on sort of director and there isn't any way I wouldn't want to be a part of the perverse plans I have in store for the site."Â
