VENICE, CA—Director B. Skow has been nominated for four NightMoves Awards: Best Director, twice for Best Feature Production and Best Production Company.
Abducted and Daddy’s Girls (both Skow Digital) both received nominations for Best Feature Production.
“Being nominated is always an honor,” Skow said. “Those were two of my favorite movies, so it’s great to see them get some more attention.”
Skow received a lot of attention on AVN.com this week when Mark Kernes posted a 1600-word article titled “So…What’s Top Director B. Skow Doing These Days?”
Kernes talked to Skow about his first two years—and soon to be third—producing his Skow for Girlfriends Films imprint as well as new and upcoming titles. They talk about The Gardener, which is in post-production and includes Jessie Andrews’ first anal scene and some great acting. The piece covers his controversial—and most nominated—movie to date, Daddy’s Girls, and the recently-released Proud Parents, which just received at Editor’s Choice from AVN.
They also discuss Skow’s relationship with David Stanley, a former director and award-winning screenwriter, who works with Skow on his scripts, including Proud Parents, yet another hit for the director who has hit an enviable groove with a long string of outstanding movies.
“Directed by B. Skow and written by David Stanley—two components that make any adult project better—Proud Parents … won’t be forgotten when the time comes for AVN Award nominations,” wrote Iris Blocks in the AAAA½ review.
