LOS ANGELES—Vivid Entertainment and Axel Braun picked up major honors once again at the XRCO Awards ceremony, which was held Thursday night at Supperclub in Hollywood. Braun added another prestigious trophy to his extensive collection by winning Best Director (Parody) for the third year in a row, making this his second three-peat of 2013 for directorial decorations, having achieved the same feat at January's AVN Awards.
The Best Parody (Comedy) award went to the Axel Braun Productions/Vivid blockbuster Star Wars XXX while Best Parody (Comic) was given to Superman vs. Spider-Man XXX.
“This is total awesomeness!” said a clearly thrilled and sleep-deprived Braun, who welcomed a baby girl into his family just four days earlier. “Keeping up the level of quality that we have established with these parodies is not an easy task, and I have to thank Eli Cross and my incredible crew for all their hard work and support. Every movie we make is truly a labor of love, and I’m just lucky to receive accolades for doing something that I enjoy so much.”
This is the first award for Superman vs. Spider-Man XXX, Braun’s big-budget spoof of the 1976 cult classic crossover comic, poised to be a major contender during the upcoming awards season.
