Alexander DeVoe Wins Director of the Year at 2009 Urban X Awards

LOS ANGELES — Alexander DeVoe took home the coveted Director of the Year statue at the 2nd Annual Urban X Awards. The ceremony, which celebrated achievements in urban erotica, was presented in front of a star studded audience on Sunday, July 26th at Boulevard 3 Nightclub in Hollywood.

“I'm honored and exited to receive this award, it means a lot for me to be accepted and acknowledged by the Urban X Awards for producing some great products,” said DeVoe.

While some would be content to sit back and count the accolades, the ambitious director is already looking toward the future: “This award gives me something to look forward to every year, it will definitely keep me up on my game!” he said. "I really believe in the show, it's not just an awards show, it’s a movement. The Urban X Awards is designed to bring everyone together and encompasses everything. To me it's like a big melting pot, which was apparent the moment I walked in.”

While the busy director has plenty of projects on the horizon, none are as anticipated as the sequel to his smash hit Rico the Destroyer.

“I’ve done lots listening and interacting with fans on, and everyone’s excited about the next Rico installment,” said DeVoe.

His latest release, Deep in Latin Cheeks 4, hits the streets today. DeVoe, who started out as a performer in 1999, began directing in 2001 and has since directed over 200 titles. In 2008 he was nominated for an AVN Award for Director of the Year and won two AVN Awards for Best Ethnic-Themed Release and Best Ethnic-Themed Series in 2009.
