LOS ANGELES—Multi-award-winning director and producer Alexander DeVoe has announced that he is now at the helm of the Urban X Awards.
DeVoe is taking over as the director of operations and executive producer of the awards show, which will be housed under Urban X Media. The ceremony honoring the best in ethnic performers and productions in the adult industry was previously helmed by Giana Taylor, founder and creative director. Taylor is no longer affiliated with the Urban X Awards or any of its brands.
"It's a big step, and a lot of very hard work, but this past awards program was a success and we are looking forward to the next show, which will be dubbed Urban X 6. There will be no 2013 Urban X Awards Show. The past show will be broadcast on a major network and the following year, 2014 will start fresh with Urban X Media, Urban X News, Urban X TV and Urban X 6.
Speaking of awards, Alexander DeVoe Productions has received nominations in the 2013 AVN Awards
for Best Big Butt Release (Big Bottom Bunnies), Best Orgy/Gangbang Release (Orgy Masters) and Best Internal Release (Interracial Internal). DeVoe Productions has also received an XBiz Award nomination for Interracial Release of the Year.
DeVoe is a three-time winner at the Urban X Awards, but in the future he plans to remove himself from the submissions for any of his own projects or productions so he can concentrate on the other companies and directors who may be up for awards in those categories.
