2012 XRCO Awards to Add Best Parody: Comic Category

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—The X-Rated Critic’s Organization (XRCO) began honoring the best in adult entertainment 27 years ago. As with other video-related award groups, XRCO has recognized directors, performers and two dozen categories of genres.

Over time, the XRCO has changed and added categories to stay fresh and reflect shifts in the adult film industry, as well as recognize new adult entertainment niches.

Next year's XRCO Awards will include a new category to recognize the industry's fastest going sub-genre, the comic book/super hero inspired adult parody. The Best Parody: Comic (Comic Book Character) will stand with other parody categories that award both comedic and dramatic excellence.

"With the number of high end comic book themed parodies being released we knew we had to add this new category," says XRCO's Dirty Bob. "These parodies are unique and it is time to recognize them apart from the best comedy and best drama parody awards. As a long-time comic book collector, I look forward to seeing all of the entries in this new award category."

The new Best Parody: Comic will be added to the 2011 XRCO Awards and the first Heart-On trophy for this category will be given out in spring of 2012 at the 28th annual XRCO Awards Show.

XRCO thanks its 2011 Awards Show sponsors Adam & Eve, Deep Throat Energy Drink, Evil Angel, IAFD.com, Wicked Pictures and X Play.
