LOS ANGELES—Adult performer Siri Dahl will co-host a "Corn Telethon" during a 12-hour livestream broadcast scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. ET. The event will be organized by Dahl, podcaster Alex Steed, and producer Madelynn Britt, and will stream live on Twitch and YouTube.
The "Corn Telethon" is intended to combine entertainment with activism to inform listeners on the alleged conservative initiatives in Project 2025, as well as current laws that pertain to privacy, porn, and sex work that "are not great for sex workers," according to organizers. Streaming live from Forever Dog Studios in Los Angeles, the "safe-for-work" telethon will be hosted by Dahl and a group of friends. Due to its proximity to Halloween, there will be costumes and seasonal atmosphere.
The idea for the event came when Dahl and Steed discussed the possible threats posed to sex workers, whom they said are vulnerable to violations of privacy rights due to laws regarding sex and sex work. Few in the adult industry have spoken about how policies like those proposed by Project 2025 (and already existing legislation) pose a threat to the privacy of all Americans, organizers claimed.
“Corn Telethon will have such a wealth of wacky, fun, and engaging moments, I’m confident it will live on in the minds of our audience long after the 12-hour stream concludes,” said Dahl. “In my twelve years in the adult industry, I’ve never seen an event like this before—my goal isn’t to host a perfect event, but to be a part of something new and interesting while uplifting my industry and sex workers in general, and raising money for some fantastic causes.”
Confirmed appearances by personalities and performers from mainstream and adult entertainment include Molly Lambert, River Butcher, Jamie Loftus, Open Mike Eagle, Ify Nwadiwe, Gwen Adora, Carolyn Kendrick, Sean O’Connor, Holly Randall, Cooper Hays, Chaki the Funk Wizard, Zoë Ligon, Ana Foxxx, Sarah Marshall, BJ and Harmony Colangelo, Sinnamon Love, Gaby Herstik, Jeena Bloom, Casey Calvert, and Jiz Lee, with others to be announced.
Revenue from the event will go to Sex Workers Outreach Project Los Angeles (SWOP LA), as well as the establishment of a grant fund to support journalism initiatives to better communicate sex worker issues.
Britt is the lead producer of the broadcast, and co-producer Steed also hosts the "You Are Good" podcast, and is a photographer and an activist. For more information about the "Corn Telethon" including sponsorship opportunities, contact Steed at [email protected].
