The topic of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which is responsible for the COVID-19 disease, is on everyone's lips these past few days. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, the index of the 30 largest American listed companies, has already lost as much as 7% of its value on the New York Stock Exchange, and has been recording drops for more than two weeks. In addition, on Monday, March 9, the price of a barrel of oil fell the most since 1991, so there appear to be more and more signals that the coronavirus may cause a global recession.
This does not mean, however, that all sectors of the economy are experiencing declines. On the contrary, some of them seem to perform better than ever, especially when it comes to certain types of digital entertainment.
Notably, the popularity of VR porn movies from professional virtual reality adult content producers such as VR Bangers has increased over the last few days beyond the wildest expectations of the creators. Virtual reality technology is nothing new to the XXX industry, but VR porn scenes have never been as popular as regular, 2-dimensional porn—but that may recently have changed, "thanks" to the coronavirus pandemic.
Much of this is undoubtedly due to a state of quarantine involving more and more European or Asian countries where, as part of the fight against the pandemic or as preventive measures, governments are closing down all kinds of places where mass gatherings usually occur. In China, Italy or other European countries such as Poland or Germany, and even in many areas of the United States, concerts, festivals and sporting events are getting cancelled, and churches, cinemas, theatres, operas, gyms and even schools, universities or entire shopping malls are being closed. The purpose, of course, is to make it as difficult as possible for the virus to spread and to suppress the pandemic to the greatest extent possible.
At the same time, however, it means that people, for lack of any other option, are being forced to stay in their homes, where they are looking for new entertainment and want to continue interacting with others—but, now more than ever, in the safest possible conditions. In these dark times, virtual reality is coming to the rescue, which for some time now has enabled meetings on VR social media platforms like Facebook Spaces or Hubs by Mozilla.
However, it is not only the cinemas, gyms and so forth that have been affected by the coronavirus, because in many European or Asian countries, the adult entertainment industry has also suffered, as many professional brothels and escort agencies have been closed down as part of precautions and security. This may be one of the main reasons for the rise in popularity of VR porn movies, as in virtual reality, the user is able to virtually reproduce sexual encounters from "real life" in a more realistic digital way than anywhere else.
“We created our VR porn videos to allow people to have sex as real as possible in a safe environment without venereal diseases or the threat of unwanted pregnancy,” stated Daniel Abramovich, CEO of Virtual Reality Bangers. “I'm glad that our VR porn movies have found a new use in these difficult times and that we have so many new customers from China, Italy, Germany, Poland and other European and Asian countries. All those people under quarantine are welcome here and we will try to keep them with us for longer, definitely giving them many good and sexy reasons to stay.”
It is not known how long the coronavirus pandemic will last, but VR Bangers honchos have said that they are prepared for many months ahead and that they will not run out of new content for their newest customers from around the world. The CEO of the company added, however, that he still hopes that a virus vaccine will be invented as soon as possible and that we will all be able to say goodbye to SARS-CoV-2 once and for all.
