PRAGUE, Czech Republic—Although COVID-19 is still affecting many facets of people's daily lives and businesses, The European Summit (TES) Affiliate Conferences have nonetheless decided to hold an in-person "lite" conference beginning October 30 and running through November 2, which it hopes to do safely and in the most responsible manner possible by adhering to national and international guidelines.
According to the conference promoters, there are three factors that heavily influenced its decision to host a TES "Lite" Affiliate Conference:
• The Czech Republic in general and Prague in particular has a low COVID exposure in comparison with the rest of the EU. (However, cases are increasing.)
• For a large portion of attendees/sponsors, Prague is a destination easily accessible by car for those that wish not to fly.
• The venue hotel, Vienna House Diplomat Hotel, offers a conference and meeting area of over 4,000 sq. meters. TES “Lite” will only be offering tickets for 500 participants/sponsors, while officially the hotel can accommodate 2,500 participants. It will thus be operating at a 20 percent capacity level so that conference officials can successfully implement:
• A safe design of the event (8 sq. meters per person ensures proper social distancing)
• Very visible routing & event information
• An effective management to safeguard the event
As the COVID situation is fluid, conference officials have adapted its cancellation policy accordingly so that prospective attendees can avoid any problems with refunds in case travel from their country becomes restricted.
The cancellation policy for the venue hotel (Vienna House Diplomat) is identical to the cancellation policy for the entrance tickets to the event.
"We’ll continue to monitor the situation on a daily basis and hope to be able to welcome you in a safe and secure venue on the 30th of October," a TES official stated.
Those interested can now register for the event as well as book a hotel reservation.
