LOS ANGELES—Lisa Ann is set to appear on the “#MeToo and Live Cams” panel at part of The Phoenix Forum’s new CAM U programming,
Moderated by sociologist Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals, the panel takes place at 1 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Tempe Mission Palms.
“This is a very important topic to me, one of the reasons I returned to the industry was to help facilitate positive changes and it all starts with an open dialogue,” Lisa Ann said. “I have dedicated my life to communication and I think this is an important step forward.”
In 2017, a staggering number of women came forward with stories of sexual abuse, and the impact of these stories is still taking shape, even as more women continue to step forward to demand serious and significant changes to the culture. Tomorrow’s panel will explore, what impact has the #MeToo movement had on the adult industry, and how might it continue to force new dialogues and changes to the status quo? Does the live cam sector need to make changes too, or does it offer a unique opportunity for performers to stay in control in ways they couldn’t do in the industry of the past?
“#MeToo has had a huge impact on the wider culture—but within the adult industry, discussions of similar issues have been fairly muted,” said sociologist Dr. Chauntelle Tibbals, who co-organized the event. “I am looking forward to bringing this discussion forward, and there is no more candid, well-respected and insightful leader who can speak to these issues than Lisa Ann.”
Other panelists will include are Jaime Rodriguez (Flirt4Free), attorney Karen Tynan, Liz R. (Streamate), Lotus Lain (FSC), GG Terra (CAM4), and Princess Camryn (iWantEmpire).
The “#MeToo and Live Cams” seminar is happening as part of CAM U. New to this year’s Phoenix Forum programming, CAM U is a full day of educational sessions dedicated to the business interests of cam performers, broadcasters and hosts.
Presented by YNOTCam.com, a B2M educational and community space for cam models, the other CAM U seminars include “What Models Want,” “Expanding the Cam Market in 2018,” and “Proven Tactics for Cam Affiliates.”
