LOS ANGELES—HoloFilm Productions and HoloGirlsVR.com, two of the adult industry's pioneers of virtual reality production, each earned 2017 AVN Awards this past weekend in Las Vegas for excellence in Virtual Reality adult entertainment.
AVN honored HoloFilm Productions with its first-ever Best Virtual Reality Sex Scene award with Angel 'n Danger, starring Joanna Angel, Abella Danger and Manuel Ferrara, while HoloGirlsVR.com was selected for AVN's inaugural Best Virtual Reality Innovation/Site award.
"Much thanks to the AVN Media Network for recognizing our innovation and hard work, especially as it is the first year these awards have ever been given," said Anna Lee, President and Executive Producer, HoloFilm Productions LLC. "I think that's a huge badge of honor… particularly because we are not part of a large existing studio."
HoloFilm Productions takes adult entertainment a step beyond reality with its advanced camera system that captures each individual scene, shot in 220 degrees in 3D with binaural sound and proprietary NoSick anti-motion sickness technology, creating a next-level first-person VR experience.
"In the year since the company was founded, we were the first to introduce many of the innovations in VR production, including the VR close-up, using our special rig, VR kissing and face-sitting… in addition, of course, to shooting the standard POV that all the major studios are shooting," said Lee.
"We were the studio that conceived of the ideas and put our ideas into practice as we led these developments throughout the past year," added Lee. "Already in 2017 we have made more big advances: filming brand new positions for VR as well as a whole new concept for VR-friendly adult content that we will release soon, and our members can expect even more from our studio in the coming year."
