Chaturbate, Woodhull Team To Support #GivingTuesday

LOS ANGELES—Chaturbate and the Woodhull Freedom Foundation have joined together and pledged $5,000 to support Woodhull’s programming like the annual Sexual Freedom Summit as part of #GivingTuesday.

“We're very excited and so grateful to Chaturbate for their continued support,” said Woodhull Freedom Foundation President and CEO Ricci Joy Levy. “Their $5,000 gift match challenge on #GivingTuesday will mean that every donation made by a Woodhull supporter will be matched dollar-for-dollar and have double the impact. Our $10,000 #GivingTuesday goal will help produce Woodhull’s 10th Annual Sexual Freedom Summit!”

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the United States, #GivingTuesday is a global day that kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year donations. In 2018, this celebration of charitable giving will be held on Nov. 27. Hashtag activism has become the most popular and beneficial form of bringing people together to help others through the gift of a donation.

Established in February 2003, the Woodhull Freedom Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization devoted to education and public advocacy in support of the principle that consensual sexual expression is a fundamental human right. Their annual Sexual Freedom Summit brings together sexuality educators, activists, and advocates to celebrate, to plan, to strategize, and to build alliances with individuals and organizations to the face the political battles ahead.

“Chaturbate supports not only the Woodhull Freedom Foundation in their annual Sexual Freedom Summit but also many global and local charities that help those in need,” said Chaturbate Chief Operations Officer Shirley Lara. “Whether the organization benefiting from #GivingTuesday is offering healthcare, animal rescue, LGBTQ rights or Veterans outreach, along with many other important social issues, we are always ready to help.”

#GivingTuesday has increased in engagement by more than 53 percent per year since its introduction in 2011. This charitable event originally trended on Twitter and has now expanded through all social media as companies, individuals and organizations have joined the movement.
