BUCHAREST, Romania—AWSummit, the annual conference dedicated to live-cam businesses, is creating an online event in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and bans on group gatherings called AWMeetup, whose purpose is to bring the industry together to do business online when it’s impossible to meet face-to-face under regular events.
From April 27-29, AWMeetup will offer its participants nearly everything they would expect from an in-person event. There will be a live-streamed talk show with expert guests from the industry to discuss various topics that are important for the industry right now.
On the first day, they will be offering a Speed Networking session where participants will be paired up with a potential new business based on the type of ticket they register with. Here the participant will have a maximum three-minute cam-to-cam session to discuss potential business and exchange virtual business cards at its end.
Among other interactive events, participants will find Round Table sessions where anyone can come in and start their own discussion room. There can be up to six people on cam at the same time and it has its own chat for participants to take part in the discussion, much as a panel from the regular events would have appeared.
AWMeetup is also offering a free virtual business booth for every company that wants one. Here, the exhibitor can have its own branded spot during the meetup. It can have an offer that participants can opt into, a video explaining their business and even a go-live-and-answer-questions from the booth chat, as well as invite people on cam. The objective is to make participants feel as though they were in their booth on the summit floor.
"AWSummit has always been about bringing the industry together to do business, share education and experiences," said Roxana, the Event Director of AWSummit, "so this is what we want to do with our new free online event AWMeetup."
Registration is open now at AWMeetup.com and the whole summit is free.
"It’s important to add that this is not a replacement for our beloved AWSummit," noted Alex Gheorghe, Founder of AWSummit and NightProwl Studio. "The dates for AWSummit are still set between August 25-28, but we are monitoring the situation around COVID-19 from day to day and will come back with a statement regarding this at the end of May."
