ASACP Names Media Companies as January Featured Sponsors

LOS ANGELES—The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection has named AVN Media Network and Xbiz as Featured Sponsors for January.

ASACP’s Executive Director Tim Henning said the association’s monthly Featured Sponsors rank among the industry’s most respected companies and are examples of how responsible business policies, ethical operation and social awareness can help protect minors from age-restricted materials.

“By sponsoring ASACP, the industry’s prominent players prove that adult-oriented entertainment and corporate responsibility can go hand in hand,” Henning said. “ASACP is proud to honor these companies that have demonstrated a commitment to online child protection, encouraging other organizations to take a leadership role in keeping minors out of and away from adult entertainment.”

The support the association receives from its sponsors enables it to continue its 23-year record of success and to provide a range of educational and informational resources for digital media and other companies, including market-specific Best Practices and a universal Code of Ethics for online businesses, app publishers and operators of age-restricted websites.

Among its most notable achievements, ASACP’s RTA (Restricted To Adults) meta labeling system helps parents prevent their children’s access to countless adult-oriented webpages and mobile apps and is offered to all site and app publishers free of charge, as are all ASACP services; including its CP Reporting Tipline, which has processed more than 1 million user reports to date, thanks to the generosity of the nonprofit association’s sponsors and members.

AVN Media Network

A Platinum Sponsor since 2002, the AVN Media Network has a long and generous history of support for ASACP and its noble mission. According to the company, it is the definitive source for all that is adult entertainment by covering the evolution of this multibillion-dollar global industry — setting the standard for the business of pleasure by delivering unparalleled content reaching industry professionals, mainstream media, and a diverse spectrum of consumer groups and communities.

AVN protects children from accessing the adult-oriented material on its websites by utilizing RTA labeling as a proactive and protective measure. AVN has also been very generous to the association financially and through material support, extending its hospitality at AVN events, such as providing advertising services and underwriting hotel accommodations, among other niceties that have helped the association carry on its mission, including by providing guidance through its participation on the association’s Advisory Council.

Xbiz

A founding Platinum Sponsor since 2002, Xbiz has a long relationship with ASACP, with both organizations founded by entrepreneur Alec Helmy.

According to Xbiz, it is the leading publisher of news and information, providing up-to-the-minute coverage of the adult industry at XbizZ.com and in two monthly publications—Xbiz World for the digital media market and Xbiz Premiere for the retail and intimate products markets. In addition, Xbiz hosts multiple annual events in Los Angeles, Miami and Berlin, including the red-carpet gala Xbiz Awards, Xbiz Cam Awards and Xbiz Europa Awards.

The company's flagship news portal Xbiz.com sets a responsible example for the industry by using the RTA tag, which helps protect minors from sexually explicit content. The company also extends its generosity and contribution to the association by supporting ASACP’s attendance at its events and holding an annual fundraiser, which has raised over $300,000 to date.

“The generosity of leading companies such as Xbiz and AVN Media Network enables ASACP to carry out its ongoing mission to protect today’s constantly connected youth,” Henning concluded. “ASACP’s monthly Featured Sponsors show that leadership and proactive responsibility is alive and well in the adult entertainment industry.”
