Andra Chirnogeanu, the Public Relations and Marketing Manager for Romanian content provider Studio 20, shares the humorous story of her entry into the industry:
October 6, 2015. A rainy afternoon in Romania’s capital city, Bucharest.
A girl walks into the Studio 20 Victoriei headquarters and hits her head on the glass door. Obviously.
Ponytail, shirt and sweater, office attire, eyes bigger than Puss in Boots. She came into a cam studio for an interview and was expecting to see a black couch and a camera pointed at her. She needed a change and a challenge.
A nice young lady comes and greets her, rolling her eyes and likely saying, “Look at this prissy girl coming to an interview, she probably has no idea where she is and will run away screaming”; then takes her to the meeting room where the interviewee waits and waits and waits… The CEO either forgot about her or wanted to test her patience she mused but as she had nothing better to do, she waited and looked at the pictures on the wall.
“Work is love made visible” and Devious Angel’s photo plus some trophies and diplomas were on the walls.
The CEO came after 25 minutes and asked the girl where she worked, her background, her studies, what her goals are and what she thought about live camming. He explained the project he wanted to start and how he envisions the next few years for live cam. Then he told her that she might be just a tad too goody-goody for a job in a cam studio.
The girl smiled and told him, “Give me a chance, I might surprise you and be what you need.”
The phone finally rang with a job offer, but only after the girl spent two weeks of pacing back and forth, thinking that her ego came out too soon in the interview and that she shouldn’t have said that because she had no idea about the industry. She vowed to learn how to be humble after a year and so.
October 20, 2015. Studio 20 signs Andra Chirnogeanu as the PR & Marketing Manager.
“We were searching for someone that had passion, drive and ambition. We understood that Studio 20’s brand is strong, but felt the need to have someone put the effort into making it stronger, come up with new ideas and innovate. That’s when Andra came along. We found her style and way of not taking 'NO' for an answer, the way that she always found solutions to everything and her upbeat personality to be what we needed. This is a great celebration for us, two years of Studio 20 celebrated on the 20th. We’re very proud and happy to have her part of our team,” said Mugur Frunzetti, CEO of Studio 20.
Andra’s presence in the industry meant more activity in the marketing department for almost every studio that understood how important branding and marketing is for a business and how much they can improve and grow.
“I think I lit a bit of a fire under their desks. I’m glad I did because I like challenges. I like to prove what I can do and I’m always happy to share knowledge. A new campaign, a cute way to market it, a powerful team behind it, etc. Nobody teaches you in school how to market a cam studio or cam models, how to actually create a brand. But I think that I was lucky enough to get picked, I had a great teacher to guide me, to scold me and allow me to make mistakes. After two years I can say that I’m proud of where I’ve gotten. We have opened 10 new franchises in the last two years, won several awards and are seen as a force and a trend setter. That’s my anniversary gift right there. The appreciation of people that I respect and look up to,” said Andra Chirnogeanu.
After two years the meeting room is filled with trophies, diplomas, a Best Company Representative of the Year award and a Best Marketing Campaign award.
The #girlsfromstudio20 are a brand on their own and are an example of how strong willed women can rule a world that was designed for and by men.
Happy two years anniversary!
