NORWAY — PlugRush is pleased to announce that its widget design contest ended on October 1 with over 300 submissions from all around the world, and 10 winning submissions that collected $2,500 in cash prizes. Aleksander from Bulgaria took home the top prize of $1,000, Gokhan from Turkey took the second place prize of $500, and Albert from Romania won third place and $300. A complete list of all winners can be found on the PlugRush blog.
"It looks like we have winners from all around the world," states Thomas Skavhellen, Chief Brand Officer of PlugRush. "From Bulgaria to Mexico, Sri Lanka to Brazil, and all over EU, especially in Germany and Netherlands, we’ve got them all covered. This really illustrates the wide variety of our publishers and that our traffic is truly global."
PlugRush, who just last month won the YNOT Award for Best Emerging Brand, ran its widget design contest as a fun way to help publishers grow more familiar with the company’s recently launched "Widget Creator" tool. The contest also helped PlugRush increase the number of interesting templates available through the tool to other publishers.
"We consider this contest to be a huge success," says Skavhellen. "The winners have done a really good job in trying to make ads look like content on their websites. But since we received so many great submissions and ideas, selecting the winners required a lot of consideration from our team."
The top winners were selected for the skillful way they designed ad widgets that integrate seamlessly with websites and appear like natural content. These designs fit best with PlugRush’s unique approach to traffic, which focuses on native ads that encourage more clicks while also directing traffic based on user content preferences.
"From everyone at the PlugRush team, a sincere congratulations to the winners and a big thank you to everyone who participated," adds Skavhellen.
