CYBERSPACE—Data junkies, take note. Payment processor Vendo is offering a new feature, Vendo's View, that provides insight into how current events can affect one's business. For instance, how much March Madness might have affected sales or how East Coast winter storms affect conversions.
The IPSP biller recently launched “Vendo’s View” to answer these questions and more. It uses Vendo's industry-wide data to pose queries like which U.S. states convert best (and worst), or how many more people shop on Valentine’s Day.
Over the last year Vendo has been making a push to provide data-driven insights to the industry through a variety of social media outlets.
“We’ve been asking these types of questions of our data for years,” said Thierry Arrondo, managing director of Vendo. “We would share the results with some of our clients. It turned out that they were really interested in what we found. So we decided to start publishing our insights and opening up to questions from all of our clients. As a single company they can only see their own data but since we process for thousands of sites we can see what is happening in the industry.”
The first blog posts in the new Vendo's View series cover several of the topics mentioned above. Each post shares insights into the hows, whats and whys of each topic. Companies throughout the industry are comparing their own data to Vendo’s industry-wide results.
The Vendo's View series will continue to run regularly on the Vendo blog. Check it out here.
