FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.—SegPay has extended its NASCAR sponsorship with Garrett Smithley, allowing the driver to compete in the championship round of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series held in Homestead, Fla.
"No two races are the same and neither is each payment transaction," said Cathy Beardsley, President and CEO of SegPay. "After 10 years, we continue to look for ways to improve our merchant's experience and have just launched our new POS system. It allows merchants to fully customize their payment pages."
SegPay is the proud sponsor of Smithley, an up-and-coming NASCAR car driver who will be competing in the Ford EcoBoost 300 XFINITY Series in Homestead for the first time.
SegPay decided to sponsor Smithley at the Homestead-Miami Speedway due to the track's close proximity to the company's headquarters. The SegPay race car driven by Smithley is scheduled to compete in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship final, Saturday, Nov. 21, during the Ford EcoBoost 300 XFINITY Series.
SegPay became a major sponsor of Garrett Smithley Racing for the 2015 season. Smithley and team have been competing throughout the year both on the track and online through iRacing, NASCAR's officially sanctioned online races. Garrett says he's excited to get back in the driver's seat and race to the finish line in Homestead during the last race of the season.
"Racing is my passion and I am so thankful that SegPay believes in my talent," said Smithley. "Getting the chance to race in the NASCAR Xfinitiy Series, the second highest stock car series, means so much to me. When the green flag drops in Homestead, I hope I am as quick and precise as SegPay is at handling online transactions."
Besides Smithley, SegPay sponsors two other iRacing drivers, Danny Hansen and Michael Conti. SegPay entered iRacing as part of an effort to expand its payment processing footprint into the online gaming industry. iRacing allows professional race car drivers, hopefuls and online gamers the opportunity to participate in official online racing simulation sanctioned by NASCAR.
The partnership continues to help SegPay expand into segments of e-commerce, including online gaming. The company believes the mainstream appeal of NASCAR allows online consumers to become more familiar with the payment processor's brand.
"As online gaming continues to grow, we want consumers to know SegPay is a brand they can trust during the checkout process," said Jeff Rosenzweig, SegPay's director of customer experience. "No matter which country you call home, we can drive increased transactions and help your customers speed through checkout." o ignored
