CHICAGO—Mr. Skin/Mr. Man parent SK Intertainment has finalized an agreement to manage online business operations and marketing for the long-running multimedia outlet, Naked News, which debuted in 1999. In an announcement issued today, SK noted that "Naked News went from internet novelty to pop culture phenomenon—much like Mr. Skin itself."
SK Intertainment’s immediate plans for Naked News include a complete update and redevelopment of the site’s design, interface and technical aspects, with a re-launch planned for late November 2013—whereupon Naked News will be in high-definition for the first time.
In addition, SK Intertainment is processing new marketing tools for Naked News, which will henceforth come under the umbrella of Mr. Skin’s popular affiliate program, Mr. Skin Cash.
“At Mr. Skin, we’ve been fans of Naked News since day one,” said SK Intertainment COO. Sam Rakowski, “so we’re especially excited to leverage our resources and experiences to revitalize a legendary brand that’s an organic fit with our existing businesses. Mr. Skin fans will love Naked News and it’s a natural extension of our affiliate program. So now it’s onward and upward to new naked heights.”
Peter Rosedale, CEO and Executive Producer of Naked News added, "Our two companies started within a year of each other, and have faced similar challenges through the years. We've been friends for a very long time, and have great admiration for one another. We couldn't think of a better marriage than one between Naked News and Mr. Skin, and we're looking forward to a long and productive relationship."
