Red Apple Media Releases v3 of Media Commander at Phoenix Forum

CYBERSPACE—Red Apple Media, a provider of managed hosting services, will release version 3 of their Media Commander, a fully managed and secure media streaming and download system, at the upcoming Phoenix Forum. Using Media Commander, customers will be able to upload videos, generate secure code and then integrate these videos into their existing CMS system to provide true streaming and downloads on all media capable devices including iOS devices. Supported formats include Windows Media (.wmv), Flash (.flv) and MP4 (.mp4).

The process is as easy as 1-2-3. 1. Upload your video 2. Generate the secure code 3. Paste the code on your site or integrate in your existing CMS Media Commander provides a comprehensive reporting system to track downloads, measure bandwidth consumption and analyze logs, all in real-time giving customers and added advantage over other video streaming solutions.

"I'm excited to release our Media Commander V3 after a full year of feedback and testing from our clients," said Steven Daris of Red Apple Media. "Security, reporting, and ease of use was our main mission in this release. We have extended security to protect the streaming and download URLs, added impressive reporting with live stats, and re-designed our admin interface to upload and post video in less than 30 seconds. Media commander does all the work for you ... and does it securely.

"The web community is focused on HTML5 video but we are still a few years away from a format that support all browsers and devices," he continued. "A large number of sites still use FLV and the last year when Adobe announced they were killing flash as we know it people started to move to .mp4 with H.264. Over the past three months, we have seen some browsers pull support for H.264 in html5 because the license for commercial use of H.264 is still unclear. The only current technology supported by all browsers and iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad is .wmv using Silverlight."

Instead of developing a system that works with only one format, Red Apple Media decided to support for all three formats, and is still one of the few hosting companies to offer Silverlight streaming along with .flv and .mp4. The company also is currently working with Porn Guardian, a leader in protecting media, to integrate watermarking and reporting processes in Media Commander to make it even more full featured in future releases

Based in San Diego, Red Apple Media is a division of dotCOM host and has been providing niche hosting for over 12 years, during which time it has been owned by the same great people, providing the same devotion to web hosting technology and customer support.
