HOUSTON—At a time when unemployment rates remain disappointingly high, AdultSMStexts.com (AST) is providing a way to cash in on a new moneymaking opportunity by offering forward-thinking women the opportunity to become professional sexters.

A recent survey from Harris Interactive showed that 25 percent of women between 35 and 44 admitted to sending adult-themed texts for fun, a figure that doesn’t account for closet sexters who are hesitant to admit their habits to unknown pollsters. "Unless it involves a politician getting caught in a scandal, sexting is off the radar. What that tells me is that sexting is so prevalent, even out-of-touch politicians are doing it. I see an opportunity there."
According to Marie, it's no wonder that when faced with low employment rates, student debt or health care costs, many women jump at the opportunity to make money doing something they already do for free.
"For many women, it feels a lot more like play than it does work," Marie added. "Texting also offers a higher level of flexibility, safety and privacy than do other sex-industry professions. Employees set their own schedules and respond when and how they want to. It lets them earn income throughout the day, even if they have a hectic life."
Although Marie plans to eventually expand her services to accommodate male-to-male sexting, for now she is only hiring women.
