Woodland Hills, Calif. -- Payment processing company MaxPayments has announced a new strategic partnership with 2000Charge. The deal allows MaxPayments clients to accept EuroDebit transactions and reach untapped customer segments by converting international clients, thus increasing sales.
MaxPayments notes the Internet market outside the U.S. has preferred to utilize direct payments via EuroDebit and other well-established local payment methods in lieu of credit card transactions. Now, as the "credit crunch" continues, an increasing number of American consumers are also moving toward alternative payment options and MaxPayments seeks to be at the forefront of the “no credit purchase” revolution.
In some parts of the world credit card purchases account for as low as 10 percent of the total consumer market and even where credit cards have had their greatest market share during past years, their penetration is losing momentum as more customers seek payment methods that allow them to pay-as-they-go from funds they already own.
