BARCELONA—The Galaxy Awards have released the final nominees in the various geographical areas of the competition, which include Spain, Europe and America. The awards, which debuted last year, recognize the best in adult on the internet. The idiosyncrasies of this medium are not recognized in any other award. In addition to categories that emphasize individual work, such as the Best Male Performer and Best Female Performer categories, others include Best Website and Best Network, to name a few.
The awards process is divided into three rounds. The first, which determines the nominees, is run by a group of experts; the second, from which the finalists come, are decided by the fans through their votes on the official website, while the winner, in the third round, goes through the criterion of the professionals, who will evaluate their peers.
To have the option to win, nominees must be one of the three that received the most support in their category during the period in which the public voting is open. The importance of social networks is essential in this part of the process as nominees conduct campaigns through them to increase their chances of becoming finalists.
The Galaxy Awards ceremony will take place April 20 in the halls of Hotel Eurostars Grand Marina in Barcelona, Spain. This is the first time there will be a live gala, as last year the Galaxy Awards took place entirely online.
