Dating Gold Becomes ASACP Sponsor

LOS ANGELES - The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) announced Tuesday that Dating Gold has become one of its corporate sponsors.

Becoming a member or sponsor requires a company to show its adherence to the ASACP's "best practices" and a code of ethics, Executive Director Joan Irvine said. Since the law 18 U.S.C. 2257's regulations on user-generated content don't hold dating sites such as Dating Gold to the same rules as other adult sites, Irvine said, dating sites must meet more stringent requirements to become ASACP sponsors.

"We are honored that Dating Gold was willing to take these extra steps in order to support ASACP's work as a corporate sponsor," Irvine said.

Allan Henning, chief executive officer of Dating Gold, said his company's sponsorship of the ASACP shows its commitment to the organization's goal.

"Both organizations share a common goal in protecting the children, and we felt that working with ASACP would be in the best interest of everyone," he said.

Founded in 2003, Dating Gold is a dating and webcam affiliate program.

The ASACP, a nonprofit organization founded in 1996, works to eliminate child pornography from the Internet and help parents prevent their children from viewing age-inappropriate material online. Visit ASACP.org for more information.
