AUSTRIA—Mobile payment and messaging company DIMOCO has expanded its European coverage to Turkey. From now on, web content can be easily billed via direct carrier billing at Turkcell, Vodafone and AVEA. Profiting from a mobile handset penetration of 91.1 percent, web content providers can reach approximately 70 million mobile subscribers to bill their digital content as one-off and subscription service, the company said.
“Putting Turkey on our coverage map completes our mission to be the leading European direct carrier billing partner," added DIMOCO co-founder and CEO Gerald Tauchner.
At DIMOCO, web content can be billed as one-off and subscription service. To pay through their mobile network, users need to confirm their payment transaction via SMS or Web2SMS.
“Turkey is a great example for our full service approach," said Tauchner. "DIMOCO takes care of the entire service approval process with the Turkish mobile network operators, so that web content providers are able to concentrate on their business. They just have to choose their ideal billing product and use the included customer care service for their consumer requests."
A recent white paper co-produced by Juniper Research and DIMOCO indiceted that direct carrier billing is the ideal payment method for billing digital content. In comparison with other available digital content billing methods, it said, direct carrier billing brings digital content providers enormous advantages. For first transactions, paying with direct carrier billing converts at 60-70 percent compared to a 10-12 percent conversion rate for oconsumers who chose to pay with credit cards. The conversion rate at second transactions lies between 50-60 percent, and 30-40 percent have been measured at further direct carrier billing transactions.
