VENICE, Calif. – Former AVN writer Acme Andersson has joined Devan Cypher's adult industry PR firm Rising Star.
Rising Star represents performers and producers to adult trade and consumer publications.
"Whether a girl is has been in the industry six minutes or six years, we have a reasonable plan to get them the attention they need to help boost their career during these tough times," said Cypher, who has written and directed movies for major studios including Metro and Club Jenna. "The question is not whether you can afford to promote yourself, but how can you afford not to?"
Andersson brings an extensive list of talent contacts to the table.
"It's a competitive industry, not just for the producers and agents, but also for the talent," said Andersson. "It’s important that they keep their names and faces out there in order to maximize their potential."
Both partners stressed the importance of branding for performers who want to stand out in an overcrowded, competitive field.
"With piracy up and the worst economy in my lifetime, people are in desperate need of relief," said Cypher. "Now more than ever girls need to stand out if they are going to get noticed and survive in this industry."

Andersson and Cypher have each spent more than 10 years in the industry. Andersson has worked as an editor at Celebrity Skin, Hawk and AVN and writes regularly for Club, Cheri, High Society, Finally Legal and other publications.
Cypher’s work has appeared in Hustler, Club, High Society, OUI, Velvet. He is a regular contributors for Fleshbot.com.
