LOS ANGELES—The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection has announced its Featured Sponsors for the month of October 2015.
According to ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning, the association’s special monthly Sponsor Recognition Program honors those companies that have demonstrated a willingness to focus on child protection and online safety.
For example, by using the Restricted To Adults (RTA) website label, which enhances the effectiveness of parental content filters to prevent minors from accessing age-inappropriate materials; and by adopting the ASACP Code of Ethics and its market-specific Best Practices, online organizations can do their part to help preserve the innocence of youth.
“Doing the right thing by upholding the highest ethical standards distinguishes many of ASACP’s Sponsors from their competitors,” Henning stated. “These business owners set an example that is worthy of being followed by their peers, and rewarded by consumers.”
Honoring its generous Featured Sponsors for October, ASACP thanks AVN, Xbiz and SexSearch, for their ongoing sponsorship of the association.
AVN Media Network
A Platinum Sponsor since 2002, the AVN Media Network has a long history of support for ASACP and its mission. According to the company, it is the definitive source for all that is adult entertainment by covering the evolution of this multi-billion dollar global industry — setting the standard for the business of pleasure by delivering unparalleled content reaching industry professionals, mainstream media, and a diverse spectrum of consumer groups and communities. The company also hosts several trade events, including the AVN Awards, known as the “Oscars of Porn.”
AVN protects children from accessing the adult-oriented material on its websites by utilizing RTA labeling as a proactive and protective measure. AVN has also been very generous to the association financially and through material support, extending its hospitality at AVN events, such as providing advertising services and underwriting hotel accommodations, among other niceties that have helped the association carry on its mission — including providing advice and assistance through its participation on the association’s Advisory Council.
Xbiz
A founding Platinum Sponsor since 2002, Xbiz has had a long relationship with ASACP, with both organizations founded by Alec Helmy.
According to Xbiz, it is a publisher of adult business news and information through its website Xbiz.com and publications—Xbiz World for the digital media market, Xbiz Premiere for the retail market and Xbiz Sensuals for the intimate products market. In addition, Xbiz hosts multiple annual trade events including the Xbiz Awards.
Although it is an industry news portal, the Xbiz.com website sets a responsible example for the adult industry by using the RTA tag to prevent minors from accessing it. The company has also extended its generosity to the association by supporting ASACP’s attendance at its events — including the provision of accommodations, advertising and exhibit space.
SexSearch
An ASACP Corporate Sponsor since 2005, SexSearch.com is among the world’s largest online dating sites. Through its affiliate program, SexSearch helps websites monetize their visitors via its portfolio of sites, providing opportunities for companies and consumers alike.
According to the company, one in 10 online searches are dating related; and while many online dating sites cater to people looking for love, the majority of people want sex, even those who are married — with 70 percent of married men and 50 percent to 60 percent of women admitting to have had an affair during their marriage. For many, SexSearch is their connection.
Because of the personal nature of this service, keeping minors away is vital, so SexSearch combines its years of experience in the casual dating industry and a committed staff that is dedicated to providing the best customer support possible, to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth by supporting ASACP.
October’s Featured Sponsors show how a diverse group of companies, from adult industry events, news and resources, to casual adult dating sites and beyond, demonstrate proactive corporate leadership through support of ASACP’s mission to protect children from exposure to age-inappropriate materials while keeping minors out of and away from adult entertainment products and services.
