ASACP Announces Featured Sponsors for July

LOS ANGELES—The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has announced its Featured Sponsors for July, 2014, named in recognition of those adult entertainment companies and service providers working to protect kids online.

ASACP’s Featured Sponsors program honors providers of digital media content and related services that have continually demonstrated their support of the association and its mission to protect children from inappropriate material on the Internet and through mobile applications, while identifying those industry leaders that are setting a responsible example for their peers.

According to ASACP Executive Director, Tim Henning, the associations’ valued sponsors, members and supporters enable it to meet its mission of keeping children out of and away from age-restricted material, while educating stakeholders about the proactive steps taken by digital media companies to implement this mission.

“Without the ongoing, generous support of our sponsors, ASACP would not be able to carry out its mission or to operate services such as its award-winning CP Reporting Hotline or to develop new and innovative tools such as the Restricted To Adults (RTA) meta label,” Henning explains. “From RTA labeling to adherence to ASACP’s Best Practices and Code of Ethics, to financial and material support, our supporters are making a positive difference in the daily digital lives of at-risk youth, demonstrating the value of corporate responsibility and self-regulation.”

For June, ASACP recognizes CCBill, Hustler and FUBAR as its Featured Sponsors:

CCBill

An ASACP sponsor since 2008 and recently becoming the association’s newest Title Sponsor, Internet Payment Services Provider CCBill is a widely recognized brand in both merchant and consumer markets.

“ASACP is a critical component in both helping to maintain corporate responsibility within online markets and demonstrating our community’s commitment to childhood protection,” Gary Jackson, MVP of sales and Internet markets for CCBill says. “We are proud to offer our support as Title Sponsor, and look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership.”

“What some may not know is that the CCBill Ethics and Code of Conduct Policies, which we adopted and applied to our merchants, were developed with the assistance of the ASACP, and working with [Henning] during their development was instrumental to how we as an industry leader operate,” Jackson explains. “This spirit of cooperation is further underscored through our participation on the ASACP Advisory Board, where we are able to engage with board members to drive attention to important matters across all merchant, consumer and online markets we serve.”
“As an invited member of the ASACP Advisory Board, we are honored to help the industry remain diligent and support its continued advancement,” Jackson says. “For example, the effort ASACP undertakes to actively discuss child protection measures with governmental bodies and regulatory agencies is paramount to maintaining a favorable business climate, since uniformed proposals or regulations can have dramatic impacts.”

“As we saw with the U.K. and some of its recent policies, having an organization like ASACP provide a voice in those scenarios is extremely important,” Jackson added. “It is both highly satisfying and rewarding to be part of an organization and larger community that understands the significance its actions and behaviors have to the bigger picture.”

Hustler

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Hustler has been an ASACP Corporate Sponsor since 2006 and ranks among today’s most widely recognized brands in adult entertainment content, products and services.

In addition to its online offers, Hustler publishes its iconic men’s magazine, and operates a variety of enterprises ranging from novelty shops to a clothing line, gaming, bars and more, backed by the vision of renowned entrepreneur Larry Flynt and president Michael Klein.

The company balances its strong advocacy of free speech rights with corporate responsibility and a desire to protect children from inadvertent access to age-restricted content through such measures as offering a link to parental blocking information on the home page of its flagship website at Hustler.com.

FUBAR Webmasters

An ASACP Corporate Sponsor since 2009, FUBAR Webmasters offers an online resource site for party, conference, convention and event pictures and news relating to adult website owners, operators, affiliates and service providers.

With extensive contacts with the adult industry and constant in-person networking, company owner JFK has been a long-time ambassador on behalf of ASACP, carrying its message of industry responsibility and self-regulation to the globally diverse audiences and events that he has documented over the years.

“It occurred to me that the [photos] might be of interest to people who didn’t make it to the shows for one reason or another,” JFK says of his innate desire to educate and entertain those with a stake in adult entertainment. It is an educational process that helps promote the effort to protect children online, with JFK setting an example by using a warning page and rating meta tag on his site’s home page, along with links to parental filtering and child protection tools.

From online billing services to premium adult entertainment content suppliers, to webmaster resources and beyond, a highly diverse group of businesses make supporting ASACP part of their corporate culture — and your company should too.
